Was it a friend or foe that spread these lies? Nay, who but infants question in such wise, ’twas one of my most intimate enemies. – Dante Gabriel Rossetti
The Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) signing window is all set to open this weekend. I am guessing that the US, Japan, and others will leap on the IP change bandwagon. I will leave it to you to decide if this is a good thing.
However, it looks like Mexico and maybe the EU will not sign. The Mexican Legislature has been fairly clear that it does not approve of ACTA, but some commentators worry that pressure may cause the Executive to ignore these requests. As for the EU, academics on the continent have panned ACTA, but it remains to be seen if at least some of the 27 national Parliaments will refuse to sign.
I will try to keep track of the International game of Red Rover which is about to ensue. Stay tuned.
